suggests a possible tension within the organization that can sink the dynasty sooner rather than later.
The surprising trade that took place just ahead of the National Football League trade deadline came out of nowhere.
The rift between Belichick and Brady's personal trainer, Alex Guerrero, was chronicled earlier in the National Football League season, but the ESPN story digs a bit deeper and suggests other Patriots players opted to seek medical advice from Guerrero instead of Patriots doctors. Garoppolo played well in 2016, starting in place of the suspended Brady, and Belichick began to see Garoppolo as the final piece of his legacy, to walk away in a few years with the Patriots secure at quarterback. The Patriots coach offered to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for a mere second-round pick, arguably much less than the quarterback's actual trade value. There was also a suggestion that Brady, not Garoppolo was the quarterback Belichick planned to move on from. Brady seemed to convince Kraft to stick with him while Brady couldn't do the same with Belichick.
The Garoppolo deal was just one of the issues the report touched on. The three of us share a common goal.
The statement says the three have had a "very good and productive working relationship" for 18 years and they regret having to "respond to these fallacies". "As our actions have shown, we stand united". The story looked at alleged differences between Belichick and Brady regarding the role of Alex Guerrero - the quarterback's fitness coach and business partner - within the team. Until then, it's anyone's guess as to whether the team is still together, or is breaking apart.
The ESPN report though, claimed that this incredible fusion may be at an end.
