The Khwaja Omari district's administrative head was killed in a predawn assault by the militants.
The Taliban on Thursday afternoon had stormed a government chemical in a middle province, tripping an hours-long gunbattle that murdered 1-5, comprising three top rated officials.
President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack and said it was carried out by "Afghanistan's enemy", a reference to the Taliban. The attackers planted mines to prevent government reinforcements from coming and quickly took responsibility for the attack.
Fourteen people including a district governor were killed in a Taliban attack in Afghanistan's southeastern Ghazni province Thursday, the head of security for the province said. "After the attack the forces called for air support and 27 Taliban were killed during the airstrikes and clashes", it added.
The Taliban then torched the district headquarters, he said.
The province of Ghazni is located south of Kabul lying along a key route.
Afghan Parliament member Mohammad Arif Rahmani said the District governor, intelligence service Director and a Deputy police official were killed in the attack, as well as 15 security personnel.
"The attack is over and the district is under the control of Afghan security forces after reinforcement forces rushed to the scene following the Taliban attack", Mohsini added.
Shindand district governor Shukrullah Shakir confirmed the casualty figures.
