Along with announcing the arrival of the Core i9 to laptops, Intel also announced the addition of eighth-generation Intel chips to its business-focused vPro platform. Hamberger said that if the chip runs at full speed then it will boost the single core by 200MHz to 4.8 GHz.
Having "more cores" is definitely new mantra this season irrespective of desktop or laptop processors.

Alongside these wonderful new Coffee Lake chips, Intel included a support for Optane memory to both the eighth-generation mobile and work area chips.
