Trump also hosted Abe at Mar-a-Lago in February of previous year; the president visited Abe in Japan in November.
The prime minister said he will directly request Trump to bring up the issue of Japanese abductees in North Korea when the USA president meets North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for a summit in May. It is Abe's second visit to Trump's Florida estate.
Meanwhile, India is set to organise a trilateral dialogue with delegates from the US and Japan in New Delhi ahead of the Trump-Abe meeting, the US State Department said.
Indian defense secretary Sanjay Mitra had visited the Pentagon last month, and India and the United States had also made a decision to participate in sea exercises off the Indian coast, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
