Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has posted a 17.3 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs9,435 crore for the fiscal fourth quarter ended 31 March 2018, against a net profit of Rs8,046 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Earlier this week, Bharti Airtel posted a loss of Rs 652 crore before exceptional items for its India business in January-March quarter of 2018.
Revenue rose 39% to Rs. 1,29,120 crore driven by a volume increase with the commencement of petrochemical projects and oil price-related increase in realisation for refining and petrochemicals.
However, gross refining margin, which is what the company earns while turning every barrel of crude into fuel, fell to $11 per barrel during the March quarter as against $11.6 in the December quarter.
RIL said its J3 refinery, one of the world's most complex and highly integrated project, is almost complete and has redefined refining and petrochemicals integration.
Reliance Retail revenue grew 134 per cent YoY to ₹24,183 crore (₹10,332 crore). RIL had launched the telecom services in September 2016.
