Ice Universe is claiming seperately that LG Display will be supplying OLED panels with notches to Google. That's strikingly low compared with 216 million iPhones shipped in the same period.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were announced at a standalone event in October 2017, leading many to believe that Google will hold a gathering around the same time this year to take the wraps off the Pixel 3. For the third year in a row, Verizon will be the exclusive USA carrier partner for the new Pixels. With the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, Google will continue to follow its trademark of not including a dual camera setup on its phones. A report from Bloomberg claims that Foxconn will be the manufacturer for the Pixel 3 and details several aspects of the phone's new design. The report also says that only the larger variant will see the notch display and a slight chin at the bottom to house the front speakers.
Upgrades are also expected on the Android operating system inside the smartphones.
In the leaked image, the Pixel 3 XL has a notch like iPhone X. In the notch area, there are three round holes - possibly for two cameras, a 3D Face unlock sensor and an ambient light sensor. At the back, both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will house a single camera setup, with an upgraded configuration compared to previous year.
Google is working on two new Pixel smartphones as well as an AI-infused upgrade to Android. The Pixel 3, it's suggested, will have a regular, rectangular touchscreen and traditional bezels, thicker top and bottom and narrower on the sides. Google released a software fix for the problem, and sales lifted after that initial period, a person familiar with the matter said.
