the First Lady appeared at an event for Gold Star families at the White House with her husband but it was closed to press.
A reporter for the U.S. website the Daily Caller also tweeted footage of Mrs Trump's arrival at the event for Gold Star families - parents of slain soldiers - hosted by the Trump administration.
On Sunday, Melania's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham told CNN that the first lady wasn't attending Friday's G7 Summit in Quebec with her husband and other world leaders, nor would she travel to Singapore for the June 12th North Korean summit during which the president will meet with leader Kim Jong Un. Four days later, the White House announced that she had been hospitalized to treat a benign kidney condition.
"Mrs. Trump has always been a strong and independent woman who puts her family, and certainly her health above all else, and that won't change over a rabid press corps", said Grisham.
Mrs. Trump was last seen in public on May 10.
At the time, many joked that the tweet did not sound like it was written by the First Lady.
Her absence has sparked all kinds of wild speculation, but the first lady has shown no interest in making an appearance just to knock down rumors.
CNN also has focused in recent days on questions about the first lady's whereabouts.
Three unnamed current and former White House officials told CNN that another Hagin catchphrase is "this would never happen in the Bush administration", often served up with an eye roll for emphasis. She was, according a tweet Trump sent last week, at the White House, "feeling great". "It's her style and we just have to accept that".
